A Winter’s Prayer

I say your name –
I say your name in prayer –
I say your name in winter’s fading light–
Between the drips of melting ice—
I say your name –
a whispered plea of cold memory
wisps forgotten in days end.
I say your name –
that you would come to me
in wholeness from frozen fields.
I say your name –
in breath on bended knee.
